Beijing

I can’t believe it’s been that long since we returned from China and I still haven’t managed to post anything about Beijing…

Although we stayed in Beijing for only a day and a half only, we’ve tried to make the most of it. We’ve stayed in the Forbidden City which is the best place if you wish to be close to what’s worth visiting:

– The Forbidden City imperial palace which was home to 24 emperors of the Ming (1368–1644) and Qing (1644–1911) Dynasties. We had a tour guide and it made such a difference, highly recommend it on when visiting such a place.

– Tiananmen Square: the largest city-central square in the world best known for the sadly massacre from 1989.

– Temple of Heaven: it’s the place where several times a year, the Emperor would come here to pray for good harvests, enough rain and other heavenly boons. It has an amazing architecture, surrounded by beautiful flowers. Also, people are all around dancing, playing it was an outstanding show.

– the railway station. Never seen such a spotless, hi-tech railway station, it looked better than an airport.
